Client Stories

David is a 29 year old man who we encountered on the street when he was dealing with some learning and mental health issues. While at the Passage, he was given the opportunity to mature and develop his responsible side and was encouraged to take part in volunteering opportunities like painting, decorating, assisting the maintenance worker and leading an interview panel.

David’s employability increased greatly while at The Passage through passing his GCSES in Maths and English at college and completing several certificates such as Customer Service Level 2 and a CCTV security guard training course. He is currently excelling as a Peer advocate volunteer with Groundswell and intends to apply for the St Mungos apprenticeship scheme and become a support worker.

This year, David will be able to spend Christmas with his family once again, as, because of the great strides he has made at the Passage, he has gained contact with his children.
