Tickets for Night Under The Stars 2018 are now on sale via the Southbank Centre!
This year’s concert celebrates the awe-inspiring natural wonders of the Nordic lands. Norwegian Edvard Grieg and Finn Jean Sibelius both took inspiration from landscape and myth, evoking in their music the mountains and fjords, forests and folk legends of their respective homelands.
At the heart of the programme lies Grieg’s ever-popular Piano Concerto, performed by Icelandic virtuoso Víkingur Ólafsson, and atmospheric excepts from Peer Gynt. The concert culminates in Sibelius’ stirring tone poem Finlandia – considered to be Finland’s alternative national anthem.
The pre and post-concert receptions continue the Norther Lights theme with Nordic-inspired decor, food and drink; completing a magical evening in support of The Passage’s work with homeless and vulnerable people.
Concert tickets are priced £12 to £60, receptions tickets cost £30 (pre-concert) and £70 (post-concert).
