The Passage has raised over £385,000 from its Spring 2019 campaign, From Street to Home, in partnership with The Big Give.
The funds raised will enable The Passage to provide solutions that will help people move away from rough sleeping permanently, by building clients’ confidence, addressing physical and mental health needs and preparing them for employment or training opportunities. Affordable housing options will be offered for those in crisis and support through The Passage’s award-winning ‘Home for Good’ programme, an innovative, structured befriending scheme which helps to reduce social isolation, build resilience and thereby prevent a return to the streets.
Mick Clarke, Chief Executive of The Passage said:
“No one should have to sleep out on the streets, yet the reality is that an alarmingly high number of people are forced to do just that; in fact 2018 saw a 46% increase in people using our services compared to 2017. The Passage offers a lifeline; health, emotional support, employment and accommodation solutions. In the words of one client, The Passage was the place that changed my life. At The Passage we believe no one should have to sleep on the streets. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who has supported our From Street to Home campaign this Spring and helped spread the word. Thanks to your kindness, we are able to help many more people in crisis to end their homelessness and to transform their lives.”
