Home for Good scheme wins Team London Award!

Our Home for Good befriending scheme was nominated for a Social Integration (Innovative Project or Charity) Award at the Team London Awards 2018.

These awards from the Mayor of London recognise ‘the individuals, teams and corporate volunteers who are making outstanding contributions to their communities and helping to make London the best city it can be’.

Rose Hickman went along hopefully with two Home for Good volunteers (Clare and Jane) and a client to City Hall for the awards ceremony on 15th October. Attended by Matthew Ryder (Deputy Mayor for Social Integration, Social Mobility and Community Engagement), with an encouraging message from Sadiq Khan, the ceremony was an exciting and vibrant event recognising a wide range of charities, including a dance group for people with disabilities and a number of organisations addressing youth crime in different ways.

To hear Home for Good announced as a winner and be presented with the trophy and certificate was a surprise and a delight: a real accolade for The Passage and our incredible, dedicated volunteers who freely give so many hours to enhance the lives of the clients they support.
