We are currently seeking an Outreach Worker to join our Community Intervention team. They will help eliminate rough sleeping and associated street activity in the immediate vicinity of the Passage Resource Centre by engaging with and providing advice, support and assistance to enable rough sleepers to access accommodation and other services relevant to their needs.
- Engage with and gather intelligence around clients bedding down and/or involved in street activity on the streets in and around Victoria in order to build relationships and offer support to improve the health and wellbeing
- To take a multi-agency problem solving approach, working in collaboration in regard to street counts, case conferences and joint work with other agencies involved with the client (such as the commissioned outreach services, the Joint Homelessness Team (JHT), treatment providers, local day centres, the police and Victoria Business Improvement District (VBID) Security and Ambassador teams, health professionals and hostel providers, etc.).
- Facilitate supported reconnections or resettlement for rough sleepers to the services and areas most appropriate for them either directly or via No Second Night Out or Passage House Assessment Centre.
- Assist in the promotion of the work of The Passage to VBID, government, funders, press and media, and visitors and raise awareness of homelessness provision in Westminster and related services via presentations for VBID Stakeholders.
