Job overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Resettlement Support and Client Involvement Worker to join our Home for Good project, a resettlement support scheme, established in response to the evidence that people who have experienced homelessness often feel isolated and struggle to integrate into the local community once they have moved into accommodation.

The scheme comprises a Community Volunteer scheme and a Social Club. The Social Club meets every Sunday for lunch in Pimlico, and also for trips and activities (there is also a History Project, with weekday museum visits). The London-wide Community Volunteer scheme matches our trained volunteers with a client in their local area, to whom they will offer regular support through 1:1 meetings. The aim is, over the course of up to a year, to enable the client to settle into their local area, make community links and begin to flourish through meaningful activity.

Job purpose

  • To establish positive and constructive working relationships with a range of homeless service providers and other agencies, proactively seeking new referrals, and liaise with these parties regarding client-related matters to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • To work with clients using a compassion focused therapy approach to enable the best possible outcome for those clients who have experienced trauma.
  • To draw up psychologically informed action plans for clients ensuring they are person centered and taking into consideration the clients’ views.
  • To lead on other group sessions for Home for Good clients and establish a focus group, to enable clients’ authentic input into the evolvement of the scheme.
