Team Information

The Home for Good Project provides ongoing support to formerly homeless people who have been resettled into their own accommodation. The purpose of the service is both to help people to sustain their tenancies and to help them to settle into what will often be a new community. Through providing ongoing and holistic support at a local level we hope to reduce the number of people who return to the street after moving into accommodation.

About this Role

The 
Home for Good Social Club provides a space for former clients of The Passage who are now in their own accommodation to meet, participate in a range of activities, and link into a wider range of support networks. In addition to socializing, we try to look after our clients in order to improve their well-being. The group prepare lunch and catch up with each other and we offer various activities for them to participate in.

Tasks will include:

  • Welcoming new clients to the club and explaining the nature of the service
  • Listening to clients and discussing what they are interested in
  • Directing clients to appropriate services
  • Preparing and serving food
  • Tidying and cleaning up the kitchen and the club setting
  • Helping to run activities, sessions and outings

Qualities needed:

  • Aged 18 or over – essential
  • Patience and ability to engage with others
  • Ability to demonstrate an inclusive and non judgmental attitude
  • Reliability and willingness to commit to regular shifts
  • Ability to uphold and respect The Passage policies and procedures
  • An ability to effectively manage your time and use your initiative
