Carol service at St Margaret’s Westminster in aid of The Passage

DSC_9066On Friday 13 December, more than 700 supporters attended a Carol Service at St Margaret’s Westminster that raised over £20,000 for The Passage, including support from our sponsors.

The service was led by Canon Andrew Tremlett of Westminster Abbey, Rector of St Margaret’s. Readings were by Canon Christopher Tuckwell of Westminster Cathedral; Roger Clark, Deputy CEO of The Passage; Councillor Sarah Richardson, Lord Mayor of Westminster; John Pienar, broadcaster; Sue Lawley, broadcaster and Archbishop Vincent Nichols.

St Margaret’s Choir under the Master of Music Aidan Oliver accompanied  by the organ played by Thomas Trotter led the congregation in singing some favourite carols.

DSC_9076We are very grateful for the support of St Margaret’s Church and the Dean and Chapter of Westminster Abbey for allowing us to hold this service.

We are also very grateful for the support of JCB, Vitruvian Partners, Clinichem, Chocodeli, Firedog, Laurent Perrier, Daylesford Organic Farm, The Goring, Greycoat Lumleys and John Lewis for sponsorship and help in kind, without which the evening would not have been possible. All the donations from the service go directly to The Passage’s work with homeless people.
