Together We Move

Participant stories

Ellen Lai and her team

We caught up with Ellen to find out a bit more about the cycling challenge that she is embarking on in aid of The Passage, to support people at risk of returning to the streets, into their own safe and secure homes.

  1. Why have you signed up to the Together We Move challenge?

The idea of moving for a cause is something that really appealed to me, I moved quite a lot already with hiking, cycling and before COVID HIIT classes.

  1. What is your challenge that you are completing? And are you doing this by yourself or with others?

I am completely 100km over the September period, I have plotted out routes around and outside of London and in West Sussex… some with some challenging inclines! I have ‘encouraged’ my friends to take part in this challenge with me, we should clock over 500km over the month.

  1. Is this something completely new to you or are you an experienced challenge supporter?

I have supported other causes before through the challenge of swimming or running, I like to keep active so I’m up for a challenge and if it helps raise awareness for a cause, then why not!

  1. How much have you raised so far?

So far I’ve raised £494, I just sent it out last week so I’m hoping the team and I get up to £1000.
