The Passage is proud to have worked with Homewards UK, to develop Saatchi Gallery’s latest exhibition; Homelessness: Reframed, which aims to challenge existing perceptions of homelessness.
Homelessness: Reframed is a powerful exhibition that intends to shine a light on the complexities of homelessness in all its forms. Developed in partnership with Homewards, Eleven Eleven Foundation, and Saatchi Gallery, the exhibition showcases pieces from those with a lived experience of homelessness and highlights the real-life stories and individuals affected.
‘Homelessness: Reframed’ opened at Saatchi Gallery on Wednesday 7th August and runs until Friday 20th September.
Featuring artwork developed by some fantastic artists, including award-winning artist and social justice educator, David Tovey, who we have had the privilege of supporting on his journey to stability, this exhibition is a powerful reminder of the role that art can play in challenging perceptions surrounding homelessness.
As a Royal Patronage and strategic partner of Homewards UK, The Passage is delighted to have supported the development of Homelessness: Reframed.
The Homewards programme is the result of several years of consultation and research in partnership with Sector Partners, including The Passage. Launched by our Royal Patron, Prince William, and The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales in 2023, Homewards is a five-year programme that aims to demonstrate that together, it is possible to end homelessness – making it rare, brief, and unrepeated.
If we want to end and prevent homelessness for good, we must change the narrative around the issue. We hope that this exhibition will be a powerful step towards raising awareness of the experiences of so many facing or at risk of homelessness.
