This training aims to enhance delegates’ knowledge and skills regarding modern slavery and human trafficking, the connections between modern slavery and homelessness, survivors’ support pathways, and frontline support for survivors.
The training is divided into two parts:
Part 1: Knowledge training (2 or 4 hours)
In this training session you will cover the definition of human trafficking and modern slavery, types of exploitation and possible indicators, perpetrators and control methods, international and domestic legislation, the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), and the links between modern slavery and homelessness.
Part 2: Skills training (2 or 4 hours)
This session focuses on identification, modern slavery assessment, risk assessment, informed consent and capacity to consent, primary needs, Multi-Agency Case Conferences, pre-NRM support, support during NRM, post-NRM support, advocacy key principles, and data recording – to help you create your own support services.
