Our Services > Engagement and Outreach
Our Engagement and Outreach Team supports those experiencing or at risk of rough sleeping in London, who may not have a straightforward route off the streets. We tailor our approach to each person’s needs, working with them at their own pace.

How does the Engagement and Outreach Team work?
Our Engagement and Outreach team works to address the root challenges that individuals who have been impacted by homelessness may face, such as mental health issues, substance misuse, and trauma.
The team supports clients both in our Resource Centre and in the local area, approaching individuals who are bedded down on the streets. We help them engage with our services and also take referrals from other organisations.

Their support enables individuals to access mental health services and attend substance use assessments, whilst they also organise activities to improve overall wellbeing.
To ensure wraparound wellbeing support, the team also connects individuals to local NHS services, such as GP clinics, scans and X-rays, to ensure both their mental and physical health needs are met. Our team also works closely with sector partners including EASL (Enabling Assessment Service London) to allow individuals to access specialist care services.
Tailored, long-term support
By focusing on addressing the underlying challenges individuals at risk of homelessness may face, we aim to create lasting change by preventing a return to the streets.
Our end goal is to welcome our clients into a supportive and inclusive environment, where each individual feels comfortable engaging with our services as we work towards building a tailored plan of support.
Jade’s story
After fleeing an abusive relationship, Jade spent eight years rough sleeping in London. During this time, our Outreach Team continued to offer their support. However, Jade found it difficult to accept the help she truly needed, as a result of the trauma she had experienced.
With consistency, compassion and kindness, Jade was able to trust in our services, and is now leading a happier and stable life.
.“Now I have a place I call home, and look forward to the future.”. – Jade.

Thank you
We’d also like to thank Victoria BID, Shelter, Network Rail, and Baker Street Quarter Partnership for supporting this service and allowing us to continue our vital work.
